materials.cologne 2020 – MENTOR to attend design and innovation conference as an exhibitor and partner
The materials.cologne conference originally planned for March will now take place from October 22 to 23, 2020 – on site in Cologne and digitally. We are delighted to be attending as an exhibitor and partner for the first time. Now in its third year, the design and innovation conference is an interdisciplinary dialogue platform and collaborative conference for designers in different fields, architects, interior designers and all decision-makers in the industry who recognise the added value of design and want to use it more effectively.
The conference offers insights into current best practice models, plus information on future technical and design-related opportunities. The main topics at the 2020 conference will be material and digitalisation. Design and material as key innovation factors for new products and solutions will take centre stage, and the conference will also look closely at digital design and modelling in architecture and interiors.
On the first day, experts from industry, consultancy and research will report on exciting projects from the analogue and digital material worlds. On the second day, attendees will roll up their sleeves and participate in a series of workshops, developing new product ideas together in a makeathon. The speakers and workshop leaders are all renowned experts from the worlds of design, architecture, interior design, universities and industry, such as Professor Marco Hemmerling from the Architecture Faculty at Cologne University of Applied Sciences (field of teaching and research: CAD, modelling and geometry), Linda Schmidt from ifm electronic GmbH (Head of UX, UI & Industrial Design), Robert Jänisch from IOX GmbH (founder and CEO) and Eckard Foitin from Foitin Future Consulting (founder and owner).
