With the Busch-Trevion® Keypad, Busch-Jaeger is setting new standards in intelligent room control. As a long-standing customer, Busch-Jaeger once again relied on MENTOR’s expertise in developing product-integrated lighting solutions. Our task was to develop a lighting solution that takes into account the high-quality design of the sensors in light switch format.
To make operation even more intuitive and visually appealing, the lighting system was designed to visualise different operating states using individually adjustable light colours. This allows the user to see at a glance which function is currently active. Eight LEDs (2x RGBs per light guide) are used per switch to provide adaptive light communication. This innovative solution not only increases ease of use through visual feedback, but can also be configured to suit individual preferences.
For perfectly homogeneous illumination, our experts generally recommend a combination of light guide and diffuser. However, the limited installation space of the Busch-Trevion keypad required some creative thinking. The light guide was designed so that it could be injection moulded directly from the light scattering diffuser material. This made it possible to achieve uniform, glare-free illumination of the entire control surface without taking up too much space.
Busch-Jaeger and MENTOR have worked closely together to create a perfectly integrated lighting solution that optimally supports the functionality of the Busch-Trevion® Keypad and at the same time emphasises the elegant design of the modern switch range. The result is an ultra-modern operating device that not only impresses with its technical excellence, but also sets aesthetic accents in terms of user-friendliness.
