Inspired by a bicycle from 1865, the year when BASF was founded, the company based in Ludwigshafen developed a state-of-the-art concept bike together with the design studio DING3000. The bike is almost entirely made of modern plastics from BASF. Implemented with MENTOR’s M-Tube, the bicycle’s built-in front and rear lights clearly show the benefits of a flexible light guide system. The CoolPure 1.0 concept refrigerator from BASF was developed in a similar way. The flexible light guide solution was used for the night-time design and the concept was implemented with the M-Tube from MENTOR.
